Deniz Valdez Spanish Health NavigatorDeniz is a lover of life, and she strives to help others find a life that is fulfilling for them. She has an Associate degree in Health and Wellness Promotion, emphasis in health coaching. I work at Prevea Health as a Health and Wellness Specialist, at the YWCA as a cycling instructor for their “Salud Para Todos” program and at Casa ALBA Melanie as the Spanish Health Navigator. I help Spanish speaking families navigate through the health care system. I educate families on the importance of overall well-being through workshops, diabetic classes, nicotine cessation classes and personalized coaching sessions. I perform health screenings in different organizations, schools, and at Casa ALBA Melanie. Through these screenings we discuss lifestyle changes to improve cholesterol levels, glucose levels, blood pressure, and weight. Throughout my different roles, I work to advocate and be a voice for the Hispanic community.
